All Four Show Evaluations

17th December

4.30
I feel our first show could've gone much better, but as it was the first time in front of a full audience and no pausing in between, meaning we had to 'go with it' if there were any issues/errors. However we maintained our characters even if there were little slip-ups, as what we see as an obvious mistake the audience wouldn't know. I managed to remember all my lines but I think the music was still overpowering my voice, so I found myself really exclaiming at the audience rather than addressing them. I was happy with my solo because I managed to keep in time and reach the high range it was in, but I feel I could've used more facial expressions when singing.

For our second show, I think was the best so far. After the 1st show we recieved notes on little things to tweak that didn't go entirely well, and we now had the experience of performing it for a whole audience. As timing for some of the actors in songs were sometimes a struggle, everyone's went really well and I was proud of all us working together as a team. It was really dark by this show and the whole forest glowed with the fairy lights, which created a magical feel for the audience as well as us.

I think this show went smoothly as none of us were really nervous because of the previous shows we had done. I feel everyone really gave it their all because it was the last 2 shows we would do of 'Into the Woods'. It was interesting to see how some of the class added their own features to their parts, such as a quite humorous start to Jack's Mother when she finds out Jack has sold their cow for beans.

As this was our last show, we all were thrilled it went well. There were some complications with the music on the tech desk, but we overcame these by continuing to speak or delaying a bit if it went wrong. But everyone's lines and songs still went excellently, and we were feeding off the audiences enthusiasm as well which helped us relax. The finale song I think was one of the best ones we had done, because we all felt a sense of accomplishment that the shows had gone better than we expected. Even though it rained for most shows, we barely noticed and it almost helped with some scenes! (Miky white's funeral)
