My character role is the 'Narrator'. A narrator controls and leads the play, briefly explaining the situations in scenes throughout it. They can be seen as a guidance to understanding the events of the story.

This is a very interesting role as there are many different approaches to this character when I researched other 'Into the Woods' plays, such as the photo above where the Narrators are wearing a large judge-style cloak.
The Narrator can be seen as having the most responsibility, as it is this character's job to get through to the end of the tale. They hold up a positive attitude throughout 'Into the Woods', even when a certain scene is gloomy, they still show enthusiasm. The Narrator is more informal and formal as they warm to the audience to engage them into the play.
